DANIEL SEDLAK - RIDING INTERNATIONALLY AND PROFESSIONALLY INTENTIONALLY

Daniel Sedlak ,now 21 years old,was born and raised in Germany. He has been riding motorcycles as early as seven, and started racing at age eight. It was his father who works for a welding company that bought Daniel and his brother Kai their first bikes,a decision that his mother didn’t mind,as she was already familiar with his father’s passion for riding and she had worked in a motorcycle shop herself. Ten years since the Sedlaks started motorcycling as a family activity.Daniel and Kai pursued their riding passion as a professional racers.

We had a privilege to interview Daniel through Walter AW,Marketing Manager of Monroe Philippines,the exclusive distributor of TOP 1 Oils. Daniel arrived in Manila together with five other pros,his brother Kai Sedlak,Jake Locks from New Zealand, and USA AMA Riders Tiger Lacey and Dennis Stapleton to challenge our local talents at Enersel Forte Phillippine National Motorcross Series in Sta.Barbara Ilo-ilo City last April 9 and 10 ,where these five motocross sensations tried to foil our local superstars in the open division. The two-day event served as the kickoff-leg of the four-stage series dubbed the “Motorcross World Cup” organized by Sel-J Sports.

Since Daniel has now been residing in the US for almost a year,he’s had little free time from all be competitions that he’s taking on,but if he is not riding to compete or if he is not practicing,he would still find himself riding his personal Kawazaki 450cc bike on local tracks. “There are many tracks in the US, I just go the ones that are the most fun with big jumps,” Daniel says.

Since ’07 I had big sponsors,but I’m happy with TOP 1 because they have really good products and they’ve got a really great package. Globally,they are really pushing forward. This young man is very special,we’re happy to have him here with us. We’re happy that TOP 1 bought one of their international riders to compete here in the Phillippines and compate with us Filipinos. They’ve got so many International riders,from circuit racing,to drift racing,and it’s the fist time that one of their riders came here to compete, adds Walter. “TOP 1 is going to be big this year and we’re very proud of two records. One is that we’re the only one approved by the FIM until 2014. Out of all the big brands out there,secondly,right now,the TOP 1 holds the record for the world’s fastest motorcycle,a Suzuki Hayabusa that ran at 650 kph in Salt Lake ,Utah. These records, you know the quality of the oil. For Daniel,we’re pleased that he’s here,to set as an inspiration to the Filipino riders in the Highlights of the race ,hopefully he will be like the Phil Younghusband of Motocross.
