When asked about Realson’s secret to success, Realson’s founder, Mr. Lito Lucas shares that one must simply be willing to do what others are not willing to do. Realson started in 1984 as a very small mom and pop store in Davao City. At that time, it was only a simple brake-bonding shop. Over time, the Lucas family started to add more items such as fan belts, brake fluid, lubricants and other related items for retail sale. They worked extremely long hours and would open their store as early as 5 AM. At night, they would close shop at 9pm. This proved to be a huge competitive advantage in the long run because while other shops haven’t opened yet, Realson was already ready to serve customers as early as sunrise. More importantly, a lot of vehicle terminals and fleet accounts do their repairs at night so whenever they lacked spare parts or lubricants, Realson became the first shop on their mind. Sometimes, even at midnight, there would be customers knocking on their door!

Realson and TOP 1 Oil Company have certainly grown together over the years. As early as 1986, Realson had already been selling the TOP 1 Oil Treatment in their retail store. Ten years later Realson became the first distributor of TOP 1 Oil in Southern Mindanao.

Today, 32 years later, Realson has 4 auto supply branches, 3 service workshops, a distribution company, and a logistics and cargo company – all of which exclusively support and sell TOP 1 Oil. Its distribution reach now covers the entire Southern Mindanao islands of the Philippines. Jointly managed by the family’s second generation, Realson Davao has certainly come a long way from its humble beginnings.
